It's so uplifting to see the first signs of spring; days lengthening, lambs in the fields, catkins on the hazels and the fresh green leaves starting to brighten the hedgerows. Not to mention the daffodils and crocuses. If you're a hayfever sufferer now is the time to start thinking about boosting your system in preparation for the on-coming season. Taking herbal remedies before the hayfever season starts can help to strengthen your immune system and tone the delicate mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and throat. Try drinking Echinacea or Elder flower tea. Eating locally produced honey may also help de-sensitise your system to local pollens and reduce symptoms.
